Panibagong Paraan (New Ways) is the Philippine Version of the Global Development Marketplace sponsored by the World Bank. Like the Global Development Marketplace, Country Development Marketplaces search for innovative ideas to address development challenges. The Philippine version is held every two years.
Panibagong Paraan 2006, with the theme, "Development with Equity," features two competitions: One is the Project Grant Competition, under which winning proponents are awarded up to PhP 1 million to implement their projects within a one-year period.
The other competition is on “Expression of Ideas”. This competition is on ideas for the promotion of "Development with Equity" that will not entail project implementation by the proponent—e.g., the idea could be for a policy that can be adopted by government or other sectors.
Congratulations! A total of P57 Million awarded to 59 winners of the project grant competition! (click here for list of winners.)
Exhibit of 87 innovative projects from across the country
From almost 1,000 entries received from across the country, 87 finalists for the Project Grant Competition exhibited and explained their project concepts to the public in a tiangge (market) of ideas. Fifty-nine winners were selected by a jury. Winners receive up to PhP 1 million each, to be used in implementing their projects over a one-year period. Click view more to view list of winners.

Showcase of ideas
The two-day event recognized winning entries in the Expression of Ideas competition through a continuing exhibit of photos depicting images of development with equity, a mini-forum on winning policy proposals, and a display of excerpts of winning essays, capped by the slogans that were selected as best capturing the theme.
